"My name indeed shall I tell, though in danger I am,
And all my race; I am Odin's son,
Meili's brother, and Magni's father,
The strong one of the gods; with Thor now speech canst thou get.
And now would I know what name thou hast."

The Lovely One
Back in May I saw this adorable little unicorn, and thought "I'd like to buy him." So I did.
Then I waited.
And waited.
And waited.
.........
On October 10th, he finally showed up on my doorstep.
It was a national holiday, but he was delivered anyway. I was so happy, because it meant I had the whole day to play with him.
After taking my time to open him.
A familiar-sized box.
And snugly inside~
I especially love how they sneaked "www.dollsoom.co.kr" into the oh-so-mystical writing on the seal.
Inside was many bits and pieces.
Easiest and most obvious was the wig.
The curly... curly curly wig.... (we'll get back to that later...)
I didn't know what part I was opening at first. All I knew is it was clear.
Turned out to be hooves. Cute, little hooves.
"Little."
Then another clear package.
Ah, the most important part. For a unicorn without a horn is just a horse.
Then came the legs.
The blushing is amazing! There's flecks of gold!
Then the top of the hoof.
Put them all together and you get a pony leg!
The next little package had the small wings.
And the last pack had the [adorable] human head.
Which I won't be using.
At the very bottom of the box was the Certificate of Authenticity... which I almost forgot to look for. .^^;
Very important.
And then... the pillow.
AKA: The Main Event
I love how SOOM uses these pillows. My boy was so protected, no harm would come to him during shipping. And the little oven mitts are adorable. ;P
Even his little hands were blushed.
As were his cute, little human feet.
The tops and bottoms of his feet were blushed, but it was impossible for me to get a picture of it. Also, I'm not going to be using the human feet, so it doesn't matter.
This is my first doll with body blushing, so it's really amazing to me. I love the detail.
Which, again, is really difficult to capture with my camera. But trust me, he's blushed all over.
Then we sat him up.
These guys watched from afar. XD
Or, ok... Tachi watched. Quincy could be sleeping, and Rook is just confused.
I had a difficult time getting the face protector off. The bubble wrap was taped on pretty hard core, and I didn't want to just yank it off, because I was afraid of damaging his ears. But after some gentle tugging, it finally came off, and his beautiful little face appeared.
More gold~
And his adorable teeth.
Then, that most important part.
Then I took a moment to glue the magnets into the small wings. Apparently, though, I got a little too frisky with the glue, and some dripped onto his shoulder. D=
Then I managed to super-glue a tissue to my thumb. .>_>
I whined on Facebook about it, then got over it. No matter - it hardly shows, and in theory he'll be wearing clothes most of the time anyway. .... Probably.
Next came putting in the eyes.
I have a deep, deep hatred of putting in doll eyes. I can never get them straight! Every wonder why Gunter wears glasses? It's because he's crosseyed, because I hate putting in doll eyes.
Are they straight?
The first one I put in kinda settled in the corner, so I said "Fine, he'll have a side-glance." I think it makes him look even more like he's got an attitude problem.
Then on with the curly, curly wig, and he stands!
Since these guys were hanging around, we did an impromptu height comparison.
Tachi makes up for any lack in height by having a gigantic head.
Then it was hoof time.
And he became completely unicorn. ♥
Yet still could not surpass Tachi's giant head. XD
Ok, maybe a little. =P
Moody Pony is moody.
A random beam of sunlight came through the curtains, and we took advantage of it for a moment.
Then, at long last, we gave him some clothes. Despite how cute his is naked.
Of course, no pants or shorts will fit over his hooves, so he's still pantsless.
Then... back to the wig.
The curly... curly wig.
It had to go. Or rather, it was just too curly for my tastes, plus I wanted to add some color streaks to it, which would require taking it out of the braid. As soon as it was unbraided, it turned into a giant rat's nest. So I got out my flat iron, and set to taking some of the curl out.
Which also made it a lot longer.
It took six hours, over the course of four days, but finally.... finally....
My unicorn was complete.
And so gosh-darn pretty. =3
His name is Meili.
