U.S. Cupcakes

So as I was doing my day-before-the-4th-of-July grocery shopping, I saw they were selling cake mix with a patriotic Independence Day theme (aka: white cake with red and blue sprinkles .^^ ). Somehow we decided it would be a good idea to buy this and make cupcakes to celebrate the holiday. I, however, being too lazy busy to make them myself, gave the task to my boy, Günter. Which he was fine with, 'cause he fancies himself a cooking show host. .^_^;

Note #1: Please excuse the general messiness of the kitchen.  .^^;

Note #2: I made the pretty pink apron myself!  =D  You can tell by the shi- er.... crappy quality of it.  .>_>

And now..

"Tonight, to help celebrate the American Independence holiday, we shall be making these Stars and Stripes "funfetti" cupcakes, by Pilsbury. Please join us. ... And any comments about the apron will result in reprimanding."

"Remember, before doing any cooking one must wash their hands. It's hygienic."

"Preheat oven to 350 degrees."

"Each cupcake gets one of these little paper things."

"We have our ingredients together. The cake mix, 3 eggs, a cup of water, and 1/3 cup oil. I have no explanation as to why the oil is kept in a BBQ sauce bottle, but trust me, it's vegetable oil.."

"Mix ingredients until moist."

"Use electric mixer for 2 minutes, thoroughly blending the batter."

"It is perfectly acceptable to lick the batter off the mixers when finished. In fact, I believe it's a rule that one has to do this."

"Mix in the "funfetti" bits by hand. This is what gives the cake the colorful spots."

"Fill the cupcake paper cups about 2/3 full."

Somehow, you look really uke in that position.  .^o^

"....."    -_-     "Anyway.. The pans are now ready to go into the oven...which I was not allowed to do, for some reason."

It might have to do with the fact that you'd have to crawl inside the oven to reach the rack.

"...." *sigh*

*while nobody is looking*

"After baking for 18-22 minutes, the cupcakes must cool before decorating. Spread on a generous amount of frosting.."

"The Stars and Stripes frosting came with these delightful little candies to put on top."

"And the cupcakes are now ready to be enjoyed with friends and family."

"Thank you for joining us today."

Ah, that's my little baker... .^^;

Thanks for looking!  =D
