California Dreamin'

In September of 2006 one of my best friends got married in Pismo Beach, California.  And I was pretty  much forced to go.  ;P

It was Günter's first time on a plane!  =D   ...   Outside of a box.  .^^  So he was very excited.

The people at the airport kept giving weird looks to the chibi talking into a tote bag.  .^^;

Günter:  "That's the airplane we'll be on?"

Me:  "Yep!"  .^_^

Günter:  "It's big."

Me:  "Sure is.  And we'll be on it for three hours before our connection in Colorado."

Little did we know, we'd be stuck on that plane for far more than three hours.....

Günter:  "It's beautiful."

Me:  "Is that a smile I see~?"  X3

Me:  "Enjoying the view?"

Günter:  "Yes, it's lovely."

Günter:  "From up here, I can see everything."

Then we hit some really bad turbulence.  Turns out we flew into a storm in Colorado.

Poor boy got a bit sick.  .;_;

Because of said storm, we ended up being diverted to a different city than our destination.  Sat there for a long...long time...  Then another passenger on the plane came down with some kind of medical emergency.  I'm not entirely sure what was going on, but when that second ambulance showed up, I realized we weren't going to make our connecting flight....

After that was taken care of..... there was more waiting for the weather to clear a bit more.  But some time later we took off again, on what was quite possibly the most frightening 20-minute flight I've ever experienced.

By the time we got to our destination, all the connecting flights had long since left.  So everyone on the plane got their flights re-booked, and put up in fancy hotels for the night.

Günter:  ".... It's big."

Me:  "Well, it's not Motel 6, but it'll do."  .^^

I felt bad though.  His first big trip anywhere, and all this happens.  .;_;

But the next day, we were able to finally make our destination.  Being... a super-awesome beach house right on Pismo Beach.  X3

Which is where he stayed while we wedding-ed the night away.

After the wedding we went to a friend's house in San Jose.

..... Her dad collects statues.

Me:  "You're confused!!"

Günter:  "???"

Me:  "Wrong species."

Then the rest of the weekend was spent at another friend's place in San Francisco.

Where there were even more strange things.

Günter:  "!!"

Günter:  "I think if we put our money together we can get her a head.. but I'm not sure about the arms and legs."

Ryo-Ohki:  "Meow!"

Now he didn't want me to say anything, but the truth is, he developed a bit of a crush while out there.....

Günter: ♥

He misses you, by the way, Amber~  .^^

I went to take a shower, and he was sitting around alone.

Then I came back, and he wasn't so alone.  .^^;

He's made a lot of friends on this trip.  .^,^

Especially...

See, he's had this long distance friendship with Sasu's Vincent for a while now.  And finally, in San Francisco's Nihon Machi (Japantown), they got to meet in person face-to-face.  X3

He tried so hard to be gentlemanly..

At lunch~

Then Sasu gave him a very special gift. ♥  And they...played.  X3

Vincent:  "Gimmie your hand."

Günter:  "....... This is nice.."

Vincent:  "We're so awesome."

Günter:  "......"

It was such a fun day.  .^______^   Neither of us will forget it for a long long time.

Sadly, we had to return home the next day....  .;_;

But only after a visit to the park!  =D

Me:  "You look so tiny."  .^,^

Günter:  -_-

Luckily, the trip home was uneventful.

Me:  "We'll go back again someday, Liebe."

Günter:  "Ah."

He misses everyone very much.

And so do I.
